At Murdoch Lawyers, we believe that we have a responsibility to support the local community through a variety of different avenues.
We encourage our team to participate in local organisations and charities and as a firm, we support charities with regular fundraisers throughout the year.
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea
On Thursday 23rd May, Murdoch Lawyers participated in the Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea initiative to support The Cancer Council, by hosting our own morning tea.
The theme for the event was “Mad Hatters Tea Party” and attendees were encouraged to wear their craziest hat, with prizes for the most creative hat.
It was an enjoyable morning for all involved, and most importantly we were able to raise much needed donations for The Cancer Council.
Toowoomba Vinnie’s Community Sleepout
There are more than 105,000 Australians who find themselves homeless each night of the year. Just under half of these are women; a quarter are under the age of 18.
The Toowoomba Vinnie’s Community Sleepout is a unique way for business and community leaders to raise awareness and important funds in support of essential homeless services.
On Thursday, 20th June, Leanne Matthewson from our Business and Estate Planning have taken up the challenge to spend a night sleeping rough just as the homeless do; provided with only a piece of cardboard, some dinner and a warm drink.
